2011, DEC 29: THAILAND, PATTAYA-Mini Siam

Today our sightseeing agenda in Pattaya included Mini Siam and the Sanctuary of Truth.

Mini Siam is named after the old name of Siam for Thailand. It is fashioned like Mini Europe in Brussels (Belgium), and Mini Israel located near Tel Aviv (Israel). But it displays scale models not only of various monuments of Thailand, but also of those from Africa, Europe, Americas, and other parts of Asia.

Thai section is located in a separate section in the back, near the Egypt’s Abu Simbel European monument like the Leaning Tower of Pisa and Rome’s Trevi Fountain.
Other monuments are located in front, closer to the entrance. They include New York’s Statue of Liberty, Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer statue,...
...Eiffel Tower of Paris,...
...Moscow’s St. Basil’s Cathedral,...
...and Beijing’s Temple of Heaven.
Finally we saw a display of a part of the Hindu creation myth, involving the birth of Brahma from the navel of Vishnu,...

...followed by an orchid garden.

It was terribly hot. Therefore we went through the display hurriedly, and left for the Sanctuary of Truth.
