2011, DEC 28: THAILAND, PATTAYA
After a leisurely breakfast at our hotel, we left Bangkok at 11:30 a.m., by a rented van, for a
five-night stay at Pattaya, about 60 miles away.
Located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, Pattaya is a compact, tourist friendly city. During the Vietnam War, it was used as a rest & recreation destination for the U.S. soldiers, which led to abundance of girlie bars here. Although it is a favored destination for many sex-tourists, lately it has become an attractive place for family holidays also.
Pattaya has nice streets, many restaurants, family-friendly sights and activities, but beaches
tend to be crowded, especially during the day.

It took us about two hours to reach Four Seasons Place, our hotel in Pattaya. The management upgraded us to suites.
The hotel lobby had a nice painting depicting a Greek battle scene. Also the courtyard had a small swimming pool.
In the evening we went out to explore the neighborhood, and enjoyed an alu-pratha meal at the Little India restaurant. Our waitress was originally from Myanmar.
