2012, SEPTEMBER 11: LITHUANIA, VILNIUS - OLD TOWN 03

Next we came to a public park with fountains. Some art students were busy sketching on their drawing boards. Nearby a young couple was in the midst of an intimate encounter.

The street then led us to a market.

Vendors were busy selling their goods to people.

Someone has his paintings on display.

We walked through a street with exterior of buildings adorned with a variety of plaques.

Soon were in front of St. Anne’s Church, with a free standing bell tower. This very beautiful and pristine architectural red-brick structure helped the Vilnius Old Town to be granted the status of UNESCO World Heritage site.

Trunks of a couple of trees in the small park near the St. Anne’s Church were covered with knitted-sock-like garments.

We wandered through a few more narrow streets, lined with souvenir shops and restaurants, to reach the President’s Palace.

I will talk about the President’s Palace in the next installment.
