CHINA 27: XIAN-TANG DYNASTY DINNER AND ENTERTAINMENT

June 5 Continued

After the Museum, we were taken to a special restaurant for a Tang Dynasty Dumpling Banquet.

Dumplings were shaped to look like the kind of meat or vegetable they contained. And there were several courses of them. Even for the first-timers like us, they were delicious!

The show of Tang Dynasty Palace Music and Dance Show that followed was certainly superb! It was one of the best entertainment experiences I ever had!

I wish we had time to visit also, like I did in 1982, the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, and the Forest of Stele Museum. The latter houses some 3,000 stone tablets, including some engraved with the teachings of Confucius. Last time there I also found some stele with pictorial engravings, including one depicting the figure of an Indian master, who is believed to have started the Zen form of meditation.
